Dr. Keyla Gammarano

Dr. Keyla Gammarano, O.D. who also goes by Dr. G or Dr. Keyla, grew up in a military family, spending most of her childhood in between Alaska and Texas. Dr. Gammarano completed her undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences at the University of Hartford. She received her Doctorate in Optometry at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. After earning her Doctorate in Optometry, Dr. Gammarano was accepted into an optometric residency program at the Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida where she completed specialized training in primary care optometry, with a strong emphasis in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and low vision.  


While Dr. Gammarano has a passion for primary care optometry and management of ocular disease, she also has a lot of experience in pediatric optometry, contact lens evaluations, surgical co-management, myopia management, and dry eye management.  


With a desire and commitment to delivering high quality eye care for all, Dr. Gammarano founded The Focal Point Optometry. This practice is dedicated to providing customized and comprehensive eye care with a focus on prevention of ocular disease and visual complications. Since its inception, the Focal Point Optometry has grown to serve multiple communities with locations in Ahwatukee, Arcadia, and Glendale.  

Dr. Marianne Ripton

Associate Optometrist

Dr. Ripton is a longtime resident of Ahwatukee. She moved here with her husband after graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry. A native of Michigan and an MSU Spartan, Marianne enjoys cooking, attending concerts, traveling, and raising the kittens she was gifted by a stray.
Dr. Jeff Smith



Dr. Smith has lived in the Phoenix area for the last 8 years. He is originally from the Midwest and grew up in Missouri. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1988. He went on to receive both a Bachelor of Science in Visual Sciences and Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1993. 

He is certified by the International Board of Optometry for the treatment and management of ocular disease and has been a clinical examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry in the past. In his spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys fishing, hiking and spending time with his family.
